Drifting in a 335d............
Just booked myself the Oulton Park M3 Master day - in July for my birthday
![]() But Also spotted................. Use your own car drifting day - **** FRIDAY 21st MAY **** Anyone else fancy it???? or done it before............. ALL DAY track time available for £119 http://www.clubmsv.co.uk/car-home/ev...?productid=442 So anyway............. Basically i would presume in a 335d you would need to : 1) Press and hold the DTC/DSC button for a few seconds to remove traction & stability 2) Use it in Paddleshift mode so you control the gearing...... You wont need tyres, its a special low friction surface.
Some barriers have been added though to prevent premature wear of the grass verges. But don't go mad and you will probably have a lot of fun, just keep off the redline ![]() |

I'm doing a drift day with autocar & caterham next Friday (14th) at silverstone...probably cheaper than a new set of rears at £225 for a full day

Did some drifting in the M3 last month when I joined some of the guys from the M3cutters forum down at North Wealds Airfield nr. Essex. Was a top day and really helped to learn the limits of the car however it was a big open area with only a few cones to knock over. I would not fancy doing the same on a race circuit with barriers and/or armco close by. I spun the car many times and often did long smoking drifts but still relatively out-of-control in respect of car positioning.
Completely destroyed the rear tyres of the car, and had to pack in drifting about 3pm otherwise would never have got the car the 100+ miles home up the M6 ![]() Great fun tho' ![]() ![]() |

Its on a dedicated low friction drift track at Oulton ![]() Airfield surface is much more aggressive than circuits, it's got more grip so is harder on the rubber in the dry. HTH. |

it did say they have 2 purpose built drift circuits to go on...........
They did say they have a 20 minute track time dinnertime session for £25 for drift novices and i'm wondering whether to do that rather than the all-dayer............????? |

But I just don't relish ragging my car like that! Let alone shagging a set of rears!

The 335d is prime for a good ol' wragging. It does however need a LSD really.
But when both tyres hook up together she does drift really well!
