2010 335xi Sedan Pricing
Hey guys, I went to the dealer, and he told me he located a new 2010 335xi out of state with the following options:
335xi Sedan Montego Blue Cold Weather Premium Package Sport Package Steptronic Navigation ipod smart phone integration Heated steering wheel The dealer told me the MSRP was about $53,150. Invoice on MSN cars is $48,930 1. I believe the Spring $2,500 Promotion on 2010 models is over. Are there any other incentives? 2. The car has to be traded from a dealer out of state, and he said I might have to pay a $600 shipping fee. Anyone heard of that before? 3. What would be a good price to pay for the car? |

Don't allow them to charge you the $600 for a dealer trade...if they aren't willing to waive that fee go to another nearby dealership and ask them to do the dealer trade for you...you have a lil' leverage because any of the dealerships can do the trade...if this particular dealership is willing to break a deal over this "shipping fee" then go to another dealership who will waive the fee

Residuals and MF both fell, if you are planning on leasing. Be careful, dealers are happy to exploit a less informed buyer. |

How much does it usually cost a dealer to bring an out of state vehicle into the state apart from shipping? The shipping is paid by the buyer in most cases, right? |

FWIW, shipping to Cali from NYC is about $1,800. If there is enough profit in the deal, the dealer will just build it in. If it is a tight deal then the buyer pays for shipping. One way or another, there's no such thing as free lunch. |

Of course it costs the dealer money in bringing the vehicle over...I used to work as a car salesman...I am simply saying that there is a possibility the dealership can eat up the shipping cost...you said it best...
"If there is enough profit in the deal, the dealer will just build it in. If it is a tight deal then the buyer pays for shipping." It all depends on the details of the deal itself |

This is no brainer anymore. Good to know. Though, no fee like "dealer trade", other than shipping, as nyknickfan already said. |
