To remove them you simply slide them back towards the rear and lift out.
Bulb replacement, you can simply go with a UHP LED replacement bulb. Amber or Xenon White are do-able |

You can either replace the bulbs with an LED or Solaris Bulb or purchase the full housings in clear or smoked with LEDs built in. Here is a DIY video:

No can do with just a direct LED replacement right now. You would need resistors to wire in to prevent the flashing which is tough in the sidemarker location. I don't mind it, kind of like the car is getting ready for take off

I dont want to replace the blubs. I mean if it apart I might as well..... But the housing is starting to fade and turn yellow from the sun. So is there only the OEM housing? I think I've seen people use the X3 ones....

LEDs for the sidemarkers will flash irregardless. It's simply the computer sending out electrical pulses to the LCM to make sure the bulbs are present. Since LEDs consume little to no power they pick up on these signals, hence why the flash/strobe upon start up.

Try putting up a WTB in the private for sale section, that's how I got my set. My old ones were starting to yellow, too, and I ended up getting a brand new set off a member that wanted LEDs. I paid $20 or $25 if I remember, so expect to pay around that much. Or if you don't mind paying for brand new ones, find the part # on realoem.com and try Tischer at getbmwparts.com. They go for agbout $35 a set brand new. |
