Control Check related questions

Hi

I am first time BMW user and may be i am not as familiar with the messages as you guys.. So please could someone help me with this...

I have an exclamation mark inside a triangle showing on the Odometer (between the total miles and trip miles)
There is no other warning light in the instrument panel

I referred the user manual and it suggests this is related to Control check results being saved or something like that - but i want to know 2 things

1. Is this something to worry about ?
2. What does this mean and how can i resolve it ?

Press the end button in on the left stalk (turn signal) then thumb scroll up the check control and press the end button again, it should the show and warnings in more detail.
