For those that lower there rides, how do you get on rhino ramps to do oil changes or other diy maintenance?

i had to return mine since its not possible for me.. i got a low profile jack and jack it up on the center point under the engine and put the car on jack stands when i need to do work under the car

Is it possible to make a Mini-ramp out of 2x4's? Like a Mini-Rhino ramp..

i wouldnt advise it.. i did this for awhile until once when i backed out one time and it got pined between my tire and front bumper which i didnt know and then it cracked my front lip

Best bet would be to do the "ramp helper" technique. Take a few pieces of 1x10 3-4' long and place them in front of the ramps. If need be, do a a double layer closer to the ramp (screw or nail the two layers together) to give yourself enough clearance. Drive on to the wood planks (slowly) and then up the ramps. I've used the same trick many times to get lowered cars on to trailers.

that's what i do for the longest time....those rhino ramps look high, i doubt they'l fit under my ride once i get my lip installed

I remember reading on the forums somewhere some one made ramps with 5. 2x10's and staggered them and seemed to work pretty well. Only thing make sure your on a level surface. But now you have 2 6ft long ramps that are about 40lbs each to store.

But the best way would be to jack it up at the center pt under the engine and put jack stands on the jack blocks on both sides of the car.

Doesn't help. If you are lowered, the bottom of your bumper/lip will still scrape.

There are a few options..

1. work on jack stands from now on
2. buy the low profile ramps designed for lowered cars
3. makeshift a wood platform to assist on getting up the ramp without scraping

Ahh..I was under the impression that it was the flaps in front of the wheel well causing the ramps to slide forward.

I use a floor jack and jack my car up enough to slide the entire rhino ramp under the wheel. Don't have to worry about the ramp slipping or any other incident.

Race Ramps makes ramps that have a ten degree incline, so low cars can drive on without the air dam hitting. Also, they are made so they will stay put as you drive onto them. Rather than being pushed away. They are pricey, but they make life much easier.http://www.raceramps.com/67racerampsxt.html

+1 for race ramps. Tried mine out for the first time the other day. Very impressed. No scraping even on my lowered car!

I did the rear differential change last weekend and bought the rhino ramp 12000 series setup. Those have a pretty steep incline but made jacking the car up and working on it soooo much easier. I used a technique as others mentioned here by grabbing 1" X 4" boards to help keep the lips from scraping. It worked perfectly. The person who said that this caused a board to fly up and break their front lip must have stomped on the gas pedal trying to get on or off of the ramp.
