LCI iDrive on a pre LCI E92?
Hello all, I've been searching the forum but not found a clear enough answer, the issue is as follows.
I'm looking to buy a 335D, preferably the E92 but since it has the old iDrive I'm a bit confused. Is it possible to fit the LCI iDrive controller to a pre LCI car? I know that the new iDrive is HDD based but what other hardware changes are there? I would hate to drive around knowing that I haven't got the latest functions on iDrive since it's also alot better from what I've read. Write or point to a thread that throws light on the issue. Thank you in advance, |

You need to read this thread...
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=159604 All 38 pages of it. When you arrive to the end, you'll see that some people are finally having success with this retrofit. But the overall cost of buying and fitting all the parts and then getting it all coded properly to work with you car will be up to 3k Euros. Therefore you'd probably be better off spending the money on a newer car. |

Thank you der2008! I guess I'll buy a car with the new iDrive. Was the new iDrive fitted to the E92 model at the same time as E90/E91 or did the E92 recive it with the LCI?
