Help with Tire size
Hello all,
First, I'd like to let you know I don't know much about cars and specs, other than the very basics. So please excuse my newb status. I am on my 2nd set of Beyern Mesh 20" rims and now going to my 3rd set. My first set is damaged, and I can't seem to keep my tires inflated on my 2nd set because of the crappy roads in RI. HTML Code:
A picture of my car found here - http://www.contaguzminds.com/ar/bmw/ Tire size I had on my 20" rims, front and rear both 8.5 width Front - 245/30/20 (Hankooks) Rear - 255/30/20 (Nankang, these are very low quality tires, never buy them) My 19's will be this, 8.5 front and 9.5 rear width. Front - 245/35/19 Rear - 275/35/19 Will this work? I want the widest and thickest without rubbing or issues. I'd like to order them today or tomorrow as I can't stand my stock wheels right now, took my 20's out already. Also any pictures of your car etc will be very helpful. Btw, can someone explain to me what offsets are? and teach me how to measure mine? I have no idea what this is. THANK YOU in advance. Last edited by laozfella; 05-17-2010 at 10:14 AM.. |

Depending on if you are purchasing the correct offset, 245/275 can work.
With those tire sizes you'll want to look at 8.5" +35-40 front and a 9.5" +33 rear. Offsets in conjunction with wheel width will determine where the wheel will be sitting on your vehicles hub. The lower the ET (offset) the closer to the fender it will sit. -Charles@VMRWheels

These are the offset for my wheels I'm purchasing. 19x8.5" +40 Offset Front 19x9.5" +15 Offset Rear I've seen 255/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear on stocked BMW rims, you think it's crazy for me to think it'll work out for me? or should I stick with 245/35/19 |

OK I think I know what wheel offsets are now. I never knew it mattered and I never knew the manufacturer of my wheels sell the same type wheels with different offsets.
I want 19" Rims, Beyern Mesh. I want to put 245/35/19 front and 275/35/19 back. Front 8.5 Rear 9.5 http://www.beyernwheels.com/BMW_whee...n_typemesh.php In the link above, under 19", what are your best suggestions for fitment? |

You need 275/30/19, not 275/35/19.
