3rd party vendors for extended warranty *Sticky*

I need extended warranty for my car... so today i stopped by at Bobby Rahal here in pittsburgh to get my baby cleaned and get some prices... I was hoping I can find one for around $3k.... but BMW NA platinum coverage that will cover my car (including NAV & related components) for additional 3 yrs/100k miles will be $3900. Others (gold & powertrain plus) dont cover iDrive... and my iDrive's been acting up and it worries me the most.

Do we have a list of 3rd party vendors who sell coverage for our cars? Who is the best/worst? I was hoping to find a sticky in this sections with a vendor list... I guess that would have been too easy. Search turns up threads mostly asking if one should get warranty or not. Well... I know I want one, but what are my choices other then BMW NA... lets get started on a 3rd party vendor list and make it a sticky.

Both Clark Howard (famous radio and talk show host) and Consumer Reports have had nothing but bad reviews for almost all third party vendors that sell warranties. On the other hand my ex-gf's jeep breaks down all the time and her third party company comes to the rescue every single time.

I've heard good things about Paragon. I'm nearing 50k and am in the same boat as you.

I bought EasyCare TotalCare, but I am still under factory warranty. A friend of mine is out of warranty and the EasyCare TotalCare that he bought for $1850.00 has taken care of repair expenses worth about $5000.00 so far on his 2006 325i.
