Hardwire radar detector into mirror or other???

I know I am on the wrong forum since I am asking about hard wiring my Bel GX65 into the headliner or mirror wires in my 2010 X6M and not a 3 series, but this forum is far more active. PS This detector rocks. It is my second in my 2 performance cars. I would love to get rid of the power cord going to the cigarette lighter and there are no electrical/mechanical mounts that I know of. I know the V1 has a mount but I prefer the GX65 to the V1. In fact I sold my V1 not too long ago. I am hoping to mount with the suction cups but wire the detector into the wires going to the rear-view mirror or into the head liner. Down anyone know the wiring diagram going to the mirror or know how to disassemble the map light/headliner assembly? Or any ideas at all???

Thanks
John

Check out the DIY forum, I know there are a few more guides.

hardwire it to the fusebox with a fuse tap from Auto Zone. cleanest method. no cutting
route the wire down the A pillar.

fuse box is easier. no need to buy fuse tap from autozone. just stick stock connector where the fuse goes and thats it. it goes in in 30+ amp sockets, for 15-20 amp you need to cut it in half. dont remember which empty fuse sockets is controlled with ignition.
