What is Autologic programming and recode and mObridge?
Sorry I'm new to all this talk about recoded head unit with MOST connection and with Auto Logic. What is the purpose of all of this and on what occasion would someone do this? I have a MY2009 335 with L7, NAVI, and IDrive.

I'm guessing you haven't searched because these topics have been discussed in numerous threads.

BMW systems use either a Pro CD HU or an iDrive HU in any audio system (Base, HiFi, Logic 7).
Logic 7 has fiber-optic out using the MOST protocol, which is complex and costly to integrate with. Base has speaker-level processed sound, less costly, but still complex. HiFi has unprocessed, flat, full-range balanced preamp-level signals which are relative simple and low-cost to integrate with, relative to the other two. So for someone with Logic 7 who wants to upgrade, recoding is the simplest way to get good results. A new harness is required to add the missing analog output wires. |
