No front plate ticket. Any side mount frames (non-tow hook)?
![]() Minding my own biz, getting my San Tung chicken on, fully paid meter, DPT gives me no front plate ticket. It was better back in the day when they'd only give you a no front plate ticket if they got you for something else first. Now, the plates are reason enough for them to ticket. Anyways, the front plate is back on the front bumper. Looks horrible. The tow hook frames look OK, any other products out there? Any kind of side mount frame that sits flush and flows with the bumper? TIA |

damn that sucks alvin. you don't like the toe hook mounts? I think it looks kinda cool. I still have yet to put mine on though. But I'll definitely be doing that before I drive out to the city. There's that plate holder that slides underneath the front of your car but I forgot the name. There's a manual one and motorized one. However I seen some pics where your plate gets scratched up if you car is lowered.

Thanks Nick & Anthony.
Tow hook looks OK. Some designs are pretty cool. IMO, they don't flow that well and they are easy to steal. Any Evo style (please don't flame for for this, LOL) side frames out there? |

Get the one Oli linked. I used it for Bimmerfest. It's non-intrusive, and it actually looks halfway decent.

Park in a garage, not on the street.

I don't want to jinx it, but I have not had a front plate in 10 years. So far, so good. I won't invest in this until I am forced to. Ha!

I musta jinxed it then. My wife suggested I put the front plates back on because the City is struggling for $ so they are ticketing for everything. I told her that I'm not worried because I've had this car for 3 years with no front plate and never got ticketed. As soon as I said that, a week later I get a $105 ticket (or $10 fix-it). I like $10 better so I put the plates back on.
