Some fun with the N55 DCT and Launch Control
Just wanted to share with you guys this cool video of the new n55 with DCT partially turned off. Note how fast the DCT shifts.

Looks cool, but really any stock N54 will smoke that off the line.. That was alot of wheel spin, took a while to get to 40. I hear without LC it bogs off the line?

I agree but that 2nd to 3rd gear shift was lightning quick.

It had a lot of wheel spin, but then again, nobody on n54 street tires launches at near 4000 RPM! LOL
(well I dont anyway). Usually 2000 RPM at most. |

any idea of how harmful this is to the transmission? i mean like on the GTR, you did it 4 or 5 times and your tranny is gone.

yeah it makes sense, my friend who has a GTR said that a lot of people had this happen and now Nissan stopped repairing them under warranty and claims that the launch control is only to be used for emergency purposes loool. So now all the newer cars come without a launch control option. I'm not a 100% sure of that but that's what he claims!

As for the new cars, they still have launch control it's just been dialed down a bit. Don't remember the numbers, but used to launch at 4xxxish and now launches at 2xxxish for the drop. |

I'm AWD too. In this vid I launch my XI at 3500+ on stock run flats, no weight reduction. Race weight is ~4100lbs. I got a 1.781 60ft. time. yeah he said that they're going to do something about it and he said at that time (and I'm talking maybe 1.5-2yrs ago) i guess they decided to dial it down instead of removing it completely
