Help! I need oil!!

So in my 4 years of having a BMW, it never has told me
"engine oil level at minimum, please add 1 qt" before...

What specific oil do I add?? I'm not exactly
sure what kind to buy, nor do I know what oil my car came with.

Please help, on the road now. I just need to know what I can get at any ole car auto store.

Thanks!

Use Mobil 1 0W40 thats it, or BMW Synthetic 5W30.

6.9 quarts plus a mann filter.

The next time that you are at the dealer take a walk over to the parts counter and buy two quarts of the BMW oil. Keep them in your garage for the next time that this happens (and it will, being a normal part of car ownership).

Just make sure you get an oil that's BMW certified. You can't just use any 0w40 or 5w30...there are only a few specifc oils that meet the standard. And the only two I've ever actually seen are the BMW oil and the Mobil.

Good luck...

That's why I buy oil change kits from Tischer (BMW Syn) and keep Mobil 1 0W40 in my garage.

They even make a cool little bag to hold the bottle in when you keep it in the car. Maybe the OP should get that too.
