Tyre pressure/ puncture warning on!!!
Was driving today when the warning came on. I've checked the tyres' pressure (40psi all round) and looks fine to me. Also checked the tyres, couldn't find any nails etc...
Is there really a puncture? or is my tyre pressure monitor system messed up? |

You had an update done the other day didn't you? The tyre pressure monitor just needs resetting via the iDrive. Manually check your pressures again just to make sure, then use the Vehicle/Tyres menu in the iDrive to reset the RFT sensor

Nothing to do with the monitor system, but your tyre pressures are probably incorrect at 40 psi all round. Too soft at the back, slightly too hard at the front

It tells you in your BMW Owners Manual how to reset the tyre sensor by accessing the menu with the left hand stalk for those of us with no I-drive.........

I'm on 18 inch tyres... I think 40psi for the rears are ok....just to counter the inner uneven wear ....they need to be a little bit over inflated For the front, just personal preference...i like them well inflated....(just because of the heavy engine!...i know, i'm just weird...) |

***amendment***
Actually, I'm on 38psi for the fronts and 40psi for the rears... When the tyres were fully warmed up after 1 hour of driving....the pressures were up to 40psi on the fronts and nearly 44psi for the rears.... |
