stage2 questions about Procede.
Satge2 as in.... I'm not asking "what is Procede", "do I have to wear special clothing" or "will it void my warranty". I've tried to slip these ?'s in on other Shiv populated threads but it's like the proverbial 'tree falling in the woods with no one to hear it' theme.
1. With separate maps for s1/s2, are there any specific details for a catback setup that would optimize the s1 map? Recommendations complimenting Procede in lieu of Vishnu's forthcomming exhaust? 2. Why relpace the stock exhaust with a whole new catback rather than just deleting the 2nd cats with a straight pipe? Are the stock mufflers that restrictive? I'm fine with the stock exhaust sound and want that last chunk of gain with minimal acoustic deviation from stock. 3. Ala the 997 Turbo chrono package 'sport mode', is there any chance of a transient boost increase map with Procede (like a tad more boost for 10s with a cool down interval), or is there no room for even short lived gain from adding another psi for 10s with the stock snails? Shiv mentioned some level of end user control over basic parameters, but could this include a more sophisticated logic like the above mentioned scenario. |

Here in NoVA, during emission inspections, they check if the cats are in place. They have diagrams for almost all cars. I suspect a secondary “catless” 335 would fail inspection. The only car I could pass w/o cats was an Aston-Martin V8 Vantage: they never heard of the car and had no diagrams showing when/where the cats were supposed to be. Even Fairfax county was clueless about the Aston and was taxing it as an Austin, at $15 per year... |

But I know if you want to delete the CATS there are probably plenty of shops you can go to, that will pass you on your emissions tests. I know of a shop I go to on Long Island where they will you pass you no problem, or just go to a local gas station and slip em an extra 20.
Normally with stage 2 software that comes with the Upgrade of an intercooler and exhaust system, to notice any real gains..........plus its not worth replacing the second set of cats because they aren't that restrictive. You are better off saving your money for a TURBO back exhaust for true gains, and this will help even more with air flow eventually if you go with larger turbos. Plus the sound with a Turbo back exhaust is real mean. |

What people do here is put the straight pipes on. Cut the Cat up and put the shell over the straight pipes and weld it together so it'll pass visual inspection. With a tunable solution you can lean things out enough so it'll pass inspection if they use a sniffer.
