Please take the time to visit them below. Nicholas Nunno Foundation Nicholas' Story Nicholas Nunno is a wonderful boy who lives in Rutherford, NJ. He was born premature and in respiratory distress, and spent three weeks in the NICU. At one month he had to have dual hernia surgery. He did not crawl, walk or talk at normal milestones. At two years of age after months of grueling testing, he was diagnosed with a mitochondrial disease. Within the past ten years, he has spent dozens of nights in the hospital, had pneumonia six times, been on respirators and had two dangerous lung surgeries. He has gone through hundreds and hundreds of hours of therapies and worked harder than any child we know. Recently he was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, a direct result of his mitochondrial disease. What is Mitochondrial Disease? Mitochondrial disease is a rare, commonly fatal, genetic metabolic disorder that has NO CURE. As said before, mitochondria are the powerhouses of the cells. “Mito” disease causes the mitochondria to not work properly. If the mitochondrial are defective, then the body cannot function normally. Picture a city that has a faulty power generating station. Lights would dim, sewer pumps would fail, and the city would fall into ruin. This is what happens to a child with a mitochondrial disease. Common symptoms can include brain damage, cardiopulmonary issues, severe muscle weakness, visual impairment, swallowing problems, digestive issues, among other things. Mitochondrial disease is thought to be linked to Parkinson’s, diabetes, Alzheimer’s and heart disease. Why Participate? The Nicholas Nunno Foundation needs the generous support of the public to raise money to achieve its goal of raising awareness and supporting research to find a cure for mitochondrial disease. All funds raised by Royal Flush Rallies will go to The Nicholas Nunno Foundation to help raise awareness and directly fund research to find a cure for mitochondrial disease. The Poker Run is a car rally that involves an underlying poker theme. There will be five predetermined destination points during the course of the rally. Each point consists of a short break where your team will receive a poker card along with directions to the next rally point. The best five card hand at the end of the event wins. Prizes/Gifts will be given away to the top three hands of the day. Some previous gifts have consisted of detailing certificates, gas cards, and detailing baskets. Co-Pilots are recommended for the rally. Turn by turn details, Mileage, and Toll Amounts for each stop will be listed on your direction sheets. Event Waivers Each driver and passenger will be responsible for signing a waiver prior to participating in the rally. If you are unable print out a waiver we will have several extra available the morning of the event. If we do not have a signed form you will not be able to participate. Alright all! The rally is 2 days away, I hope everyone is ready and excited! It will surely be a fun filled day for all of us. This is going to be the last post and update in this thread before the rally.
Some of you have expressed concerns about rain in the forecast for Sunday. It looks to be just thunderstorms possible, so unless there is a dramatic change in weather tomorrow we are having the rally on Sunday no matter what. Check back tomorrow evening just in case we have to postpone due to any rain on Sunday. Here are some last minute details for everyone:
I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday! Drive safe to the starting point and be prepared to have some fun! Joey |

RFR would personally like to thank all of you guys who came out and supported a great cause yesterday. We had over 80 cars show up and participate in the rally. Together we helped raise around $3500 and counting for the Nicholas Nunno Foundation. The NNF was extremely grateful and appreciative for everyone support and generous donations to their charity.
We would also like to thank all of our sponsors for helping support the rally. Please take the time to visit them for any of your future needs.
Without you all and our sponsors the rallies would not happen. At the end of the day we come together to enjoy a passion and to support a great cause. It is something you should all be proud of yourself for. Together we are contributing to make the world a better please. We hope you all had a good time. As always we love to hear feedback from the run to make the next one better. Post up your thoughts, comments, concerns, etc about the rally so we can incorporate them into future events. For pictures and video of the rally please check them out on Euro Addiction. We encourage all of you to share your shots and clips from the day in one giant thread. You can find footage from the day here in the Official Picture and Video Thread T-SHIRTS We still have a bunch of T-Shirt from the rally in all sizes. You can still pick one up if you would like.
