New N55 Tune Update with Pics!!

Its been a few weeks since I updated the progress on the new N55 Tune. BMS has been hard at work on the stage-1 tune and I can happily announce that they have moved into preliminary production. I am not taking any orders or don't have any more info beyond that, but all the parts are in place and its a matter of turning the prototype into a production unit. Will update when we have more info, but its getting closer to reality

Will probably start a pre-order list once things are more finalized and closer to completion.

Exciting times!!

Mike

so the concept of JB+ is no longer available on the N55 due to the complicity on the new engine layout?

With the stage 1 around 40whp/60wtq, reduced lag, and smoother performance.

Hey Mike, how are the N55 guys looking for better intake? Is their adequate room on the left side of the engine to do a proper CAI?

Terry@BMW said that aftermarket intakes for the N55 are impossible to do on stock tunes because the N55 has various sensors calibrated to it's stock intake. An aftermarket intake needs a special tune for that intake.

Easier than the JB3 PnP for the N54.

Ya its like looking at a Jb3 pin out for the first time you kind of get this kind of reaction . It sucks becuase you cant get an aftermaket intake though.

You have 4 PnP connectors that go to the MAP, TMAP, MAF, and boost solenoid. Not much to mix or mess up. It's pretty easy and no finicky ECU connectors to deal with. At least not until Stage 2.

What do you mean by "smoother performance"? Smoother than what, stock? If so my hat's off to you (or Terry) - smoothness is even more important than numbers to me...
