Sport Package Tires

Anyone know why are the rear tires thinner than the front tires in the sport package?

If by 'thinner' you mean narrower, on the 330i SP the fronts are 1/2" thinner.

Front: 18x8 225/40/18
Rear: 18x8.5 255/35/18.

Sorry for the confusion...... I have a sport 325i, and the front tires are 225/45/17 and rear are 255/40/17. I'm wondering why the front tires are 45, while the rear are only 40?

The second number is not representing exact height of the sidewall. It is a percentage of the tire width. In your case you should take 45% of 225 millimeters and this would give you the sidewall height for the front tire, which is 101.3 and 40% of 255 for the rear = 102. That means the both tires have almost the same height, but the rear one more wider.
