Sorry, they don't say "upgraded" per se but "new". So they basically just change them out at that time? Weird they mention them at all then. Here's the part where they mention it:

Yes, there is a set of plugs included. After changing them and installing the Power Kit, the plugs must be changed every 40.000 miles/60.000km.
