In this case the customer already knew it wasn't working, so it seems like nothing was achieved by testing it.

I'd imagine that deciding to replace a damaged key depends on how far their concept of goodwill can be stretched. Charging for telling the customer something they already know - that is the opposite of goodwill.

Tell them you are talking with A Current Affairs and relay that information to BMW Australia..... Unless they pay up big time.

They are owned by BMW Australia. The service is bad which is why i bail out and would think really hard again if i want to buy another BMW. We pay alot of money for these cars and the treatment we receive is getting worse everyday.

I've never had bad service from them, maybe it's to do with the SA you have and the relationship built?
