How many KMs before I should bring in my car for first service??

I bought my car (335) brand new, how many KMs should it be before I take it in for the first service? I notice I get a "Service car" alert on the navigation screen when I turn on my car, then it disappears?

I have a similar issue.
Is your car now one year old?

BMW kind of thinks their customers can take a hint

Regardless I change my oil every 7000 myself and then go to BMW every time the CBS ( that's the warning thi gy that peskily lights up on your dash) says to.

my car only has 3,000km on the clock.. I heard somewhere people said BMWs go up to 20,000 before requiring their first service.... maybe they want the car for an oil change?

I heard the M3 requires a break in oil change at 2,000km. I did the same on my 325i just for peace of mind. I did it DIY, but it still costs money for the Castrol oil and filter.

For any brand new car I'd never let it go more than 10,000km for the first service. My thinking is that break in results in metal particles in the oil, so new oil and filter will reduce any unnecessary engine wear due to this.
