Wastegate Rattle
They just performed this on mine and no rattle.
http://www.bmwtis.com/tsb/bulletins/...p/B111307g.htm They did the software update, replaced the actuators, and since my car is 07 production they did the wastegate conversion option to get rid of the lag. GL Last edited by faded67; 06-24-2010 at 09:59 AM.. Reason: missing info |

I think the SIB or TSB says step 1 software upgrade...if not then step 2 replace/adjust actuator...if not then step 3 would begin process between dealer and BMWNA for turbo replacement. Not sure if thats different now, but thats the way I understand it.

I think there are several variables that determine turbo replacement which include, the local BMW field Rep, the dealership, the SA, the build date of your car, the tech etc etc....if all these align, ideally you get new turbos like I did

Step 1. Apply band-aid (reprogram)
Step 2. Apply bigger band-aid. (adjust) Step 3. Apply 2 bigger band-aids after jumping through burning hoops (turbos) |

Yea. I was too lazy to be accurate. I stopped reading the TSB when BMW says that its normal. It's "normal" for a bad design they don't want to pay to fix.
