Pricing help on a 2008 Coupe CPO

This is my first post here. Thanks for this awesome forum. I was wondering if someone could tell me what a reasonable offer for this car is.

2008 335i coupe (Space gray)
Steptronic
Sport
Premium
Navigation
34k miles

Their asking 37,800 but I was thinking of offering them $32k + TT&L. Its the only 2008 with sport/premium within about 500 miles of me, tons of 2007's though. Thanks in advance for your help.

That's a fair offer I've tried recently. Most of them came back at 34,400, but still not low enough for me to buy. Not sure how to get them lower.

The wholesale/trade-in value of that car with 34k miles is $26,500 (base mileage is 26k). A final sale price below $33,000 would be a fair deal for that CPO car, so your initial offer should be closer to $30,000 IMO...

TJDiCandido, what's your tips?

I've tried to justify my offers, but they won't budge. One car was at $37,5 I offered $31,5 and they came back at $34,9. I tried coming back at $32, but they're just like no. Same with another that was listed at $33,9 offered $28,5 came back at $31,9 and wouldn't listen to my next offer. I'm not sure if it's because of So Cal, but these cars are gone by the weekend.

First, you need to have a very good idea of the wholesale values of the cars you're looking at, and work up from those prices instead of down from the dealer's asking price. You should also expand your search radius and contact several other dealers. After you've found several cars that interest you, wait until closer to the end of the month to start making your offers.

I ended up purchasing my E90 almost 200 miles away from my home because I wanted a RWD 335i with ZSP, 6MT, and no iDrive (there weren't many CPO's around that met my criteria). Just be patient...

I just saw a car likes this sell at auction for 27,800 ten days ago, even I will admit this car seems to be a bit high at 37,800, expecting they have 30-31 in certification and reconditioning. It does seem a bit high for the average markup but they may have got hosed if it was a local trade and someone lost their mind on trade value to get the deal originally.
