Samsung phone / Bluetooth help please!!!

Has anyone any experience with the Samsung phones for bluetooth connectivity with the E90.

I am considering buying the Samsung D840 slide phone and would appreciate if anyone has connected this or any Samsung phone to their E90 bluetooth.

Bluetooth Help

Ck out this site re: compatability

http://www.bmwusa.com/owners/bluetooth/phones

I spoke with the service and they claim only certain phones are compatabile. I think they are just trying to sell phones as they suggest to ensure the phone works you should buy it from them.

BMW's official list of compatible phones is not much use. Most bluetooth phones will work, but you may not have full functionality. For example, my old iPaq phone connected and could receive and place calls with no problems, but I couldn't access the address book.

My Blackjack will connect and work with the car as a headset just fine, but I don't get any of the phonebook and recent calls data from the phone

Also, 1,000th post:rocks:

Apparently no Nokia phones work. I find this quite biased considering bluetooth is bluetooth. Theres no reason why they all shouldnt connect just fine. I have an unlocked N73, have to see if that works when I get the car.

I used to have a Samsung SGH-T809, very nice phone, but it never worked with my E92's bluetooth. It would pair, but all calls (incoming and outcoming) would drop. T-Mobile's customer service wasn't able to provide any useful information, so I returned my Samsung and got a Motorola RAZR instead (Costco's return policy is unbeatable!).

I suggest you don't buy that phone without trying it first.

Thanks guys for all your advice.

I plan on taking the car to the mobile phone shop to test the bluetooth first.

I had Sam SGH-D500, it could connect to BT but not read the address book of the GSM. Now I have a SGH-D900 and it works fine with BT.

same experience with the samsung T809. moreover the addressbook transfered was all messed up. so, unusable.

i think the D840 is some sort of variation of the T809, so i'd say there's pretty high probability you'll have issue with it.
