Ultimate Driving Event

I went up to Peabody this afternoon and drove the A6, 535i and 550i. All beautiful cars but the 550i is a torque monster! The 15 minute test loop took me about 5 minutes to complete.

I was there also, from about 11-1:30. Drove the 335d, Z4is, and 535/A6. I was really looking forward to the 'd' and came away impressed. But the Z4is was just utterly amazing. What a car. That exhaust note just about made me jizz myself..

It was a great time overall, well-managed by BMWNA and Peabody.

How did you guys get to drive so many cars? I was told it was only 2 test drives per person, so I was only able to drive the 535/E350 combo. Though it might have been because I got there at 5 and the place was pretty packed.

The 535 was awesome though, I totally enjoyed my 15 minutes in it. The E350 felt like a turtle in comparison.

I was there around 1--you could drive whatever you wanted as it wasn't terribly busy. The longest I had to wait for a car was about 10 minutes...

Yep. I was there right at 11AM and they let me take the 335d out without any issues. Then did the Z4, then the comparo. They wouldn't let you cut in line or go at a time when someone else was scheduled obviously, but if you asked they squeeze you in for just about anything you want. At 11:30ish I was second in line for the Z4, but by 12:15 there was a decently long list for it.

I felt the same way.. The exhaust note was amazing.. Driving around Allston/Brookline around noon is probably the worst traffic ever but I fell in love with that car. When I got back in my car I felt . Wish I never settled on a 328.

I also drove the 550i which was pretty good. It was very comfy but I wasn't really able to get up to speed with it.
