AR Downpipes Mobile Install By Daniel From RSI
I've been reading nothing but great reviews from this website about the AR Downpipes. I ordered them about 4 weeks ago and I just received them yesterday. Being new to BMW's, I asked Andrew from AR who he recommended for install and he mentioned Daniel from Race Spirit Inspired. He is located out of Orange County California and when he does the install, he comes to you, which in my case was Buena Park.
He responded from my voice message yesterday right away, and he was here today at my work doing the install. It took him a little over an hour for the downpipes and the O2 sim from BMS. He also modified my clutch valve on site. Not only was he very quick, he was extremely knowledgable about the 335i and answered all our questions from the guys here at my work. All the work he did was a little over $200.00. He charged 38 cents a mile for travel which I thought was very fair considering gas prices these days. He brought all the tools and equipment and he showed me everything he was doing and explained things as he went. My car is stock except for INJEN DCI's and the AR Downpipes. I will be test driving it first thing tomorrow morning when I get off work. Next Thursday he will be coming again to install the JB3 and a laptop port. The great thing is he is willing to explain to me in detail what I'm buying and how things work. His customer service was well worth the money I spent on the install. I would totally feel comfortable taking the pipes off and on again if I had to. He wasn't just here to install and take my money and run. His install was kick ass and he was one hell of a nice guy. I am definitely looking forward to the JB3. If anyone is interested, I can post some pictures. |

Pictures from install
Car on jacks. Pipes installed. Size of hole prior to modification. Inserted allen wrench and struck it with a mallet. Size of hole after. Clutch feels like it grabs a little earlier with less play. |

Test Drive
As far as the performance, it's great!. I definitely feel the most difference in third gear. It pulls hard and I'm not throwing any codes. Daniel stated the car should adapt after driving it a few more miles and perform even better. As far as the sound, it is pretty much the same but a difference in tone. I plan on getting an exaust system pretty soon to completely eliminate the catalytic converters. Seems like exaust is pretty subjective to guys on here.
Next on my list for this coming Thursday is the JB3 and hopefully my STETT Charge Pipe and Tial BOV will arrive soon in the mail. If anyone is interested, I will continue my posts. Last edited by SRanch335i; 06-27-2010 at 09:03 PM.. |
