Production timing question
Question, what has the timing trend been like from your scheduled production date to when the car is completed and ready for transport. I call the 800 # and it says It's scheduled for production but without a production date. It's supposed to be produced this month. Just curious!!!
Thanks

It varies. When it's actually being produced... 5-6 weeks. My dealer failed to mention that the allotment for Oct had been exceded (ordered 10/11), and thus it went into prod mid Nov... delivered 12/27. Getting a production number just means that it's in the computer, but the dealer allocation can delay time to actual production. Case in point, a fellow member ordered on the same day as me and received his car 2+ weeks earlier due to the dealer allocation.

hopefully he was telling me the truth. I ordered it on the 4th of Feb as he said they had slots avail in March for an April delivery date... Keeping my fingers crossed. This is my first BMW and was born as the most impatient person...
Thanks for the info

My CA was appologetic when I started calling about production in early Nov and very frank about the allocation mishap. His explanation was that they regularly excede their allocation on other models and BMW still slates them for production ( a loose standard), but with the 335 e92, they were being stringent due to demand. It could bave been pacification, but he was aware that I was selling my M privately and wasn't in that much of a hurry. I'd ring your CA and ask him frankly about this issue... specifically "was I within the monthly allocation".

If your status is scheduled for production, I would think that production would start within the coming week.

In my case the car was produced the following week. completed on 3.01.07 and at port 3.02.07 and on the water 3.06.07 so things can move fast.
