LCI E90 Angel Eye Bulb Swap

I swapped out the stock bulbs in my LCI E90 for GP Thunder 7500K bulbs. I'll try to attempt to list what I did. Sorry for the lack of titling for the pics. I'm still trying to figure out how to post with titles above them.

1. Here is my car stock.

2. This is the location of the AE bulbs. You need to turn it counter clockwise. There is a tamper proof warranty sticker which will tear with even a little pressure. I don't think there is much you can do about not tearing it.

3. To remove the bulb, rotate it clockwise. Pull the bulb out and remove the tabs.

4. Here's a side by side comparison.

5. Here is the final product.

Putting the bulbs back in is a real bitch and a half. You have to have really small hands or else you will scrape the back of your hand against the engine parts. The right side light is particularly tight. The backs on my hand are raw red and ribbed looking because of some part on the right side. When putting the lights back in, I noticed you need to put them in not completely perpendicular to the ground like one would assume but slight tilted. Once I had it fitted in, I had to turn the bulb counter clockwise in somehow. It took me a long time (and yelling at BMW) to get them in. I think the best way with people with normal to large hands is stick one index finger in and hold the bulb like holding a football for a place kicker and use your other index finger to try to turn the bulb in. For the record, my hands are "cadet" size according to my golf glove size which is not big.

Hope this helps.

My next project will be to install the fog lights but I think I need my hands to heal first.

dont the RD LED Angel Eyes work on the LCI's also? Or those HID angel eyes from camaross305. I personally would have gone with one of those set-ups

I'm not sure. The bulbs are H8 so they are pretty common and not too expensive.

If you are talking about light output, I would agree. I would say these bulbs are about 3/4 as bright as the stock bulbs. The outer ring is a lot less bright with these bulbs as well.
