I guess so. The Astra had three "points" where you clamped a roofrack - maybe yours its more versatile?

This shows what I mean more clearly on my E91 (I'm struggling to explain it!) -see how my rails are separated from the roof so a rack clamp can wrap "around" it rather than just squeeze it?

Re the rood rack, see what you mean, mine are on the roof the whole length so you would have to clamp in the recess but there looks no limitation on where you can do this
