Installing VK downpipes soon...a few questions
hey guys, i got a pair of VK downpipes with the bms v3 fix coming to me in a few days and wanted to get as much info as possible before i tackle the install...
i will be installing these in my garage with a friend so any tips or tricks would be appreciated. what tools will i need for the install? im thinking about getting some new gaskets and bolts from AR Design while im at it. necessary or not? i have jb3 with simota intake, air scoops, rsd charge pipe w/ hks bov. im currently on map 5 with 93 octane. will i be able to go to map 7 safely after the dp's and what type of gains should i expect? thanks for any help you guys might offer. |

The tips I have for you would be loosen the exhaust all the way so you have some wiggle room. Make sure you don't damage the o2 sensors when removing and screwing them in. Make sure the clamps are placed correctly and tighten properly. Don't get impatient because it is a long install so just take your time. Any tools you need could be found in any DIY thread.
My biggest advice would be if you have access to a lift, use it! It's possible to install dps on ramps but it's more difficult keep that in mind. Good luck.
