Man, you know you're old when things start dropping off the pop culture lexicon.
If anybody asks if the "moonwalk" was something they used to do with those old space shuttle thingies, I'm headed to the back country for good.

Don't know, but....
The last couple vehicles I've had all had a few 'optional' components unplugged like that under the hood. It's as if it's for a diagnostic port or perhaps an unpurchased option, etc.
You should look into it until you get an actual answer, I'm just mentioning how it's not terribly uncommon for there to be a couple of 'unplugged' ports under the hood of just about any vehicle these days. And watch back to the future, immediately. |

Sorry, OP, I couldn't resist. I hope you find out where that plug goes. Considering the length of the cord, it couldn't have come from too far. It looks like its constrained pretty well... |

I think if you clean your engine bay it will find away to plug itself back in to thank you...
If your headlights are working ok I would bet its something optional and wouldn't be too worried about it. |

OP: Is that your 320i or a 335? Looks more like a 320i engine bay that hasn't been cleaned in awhile...am I correct?
