Hey people,

I'm looking to change rims now but everything I've looked at that involve CSLs (reps) are so expensive, probably the norm buit this is the first time I've looked properly, plus I have NO clue on tyre sizes, makes and the like. As far as I'm aware I want some 19s on decent tyres that look wider from the back (wider rears I assume) don't have to be RFT.

I also want to lower the car but was thinking I don't actually know how much would look good. I want to lower it enough so that it doesn't look OTT but is still noticeable.

I know there is plenty of help here so decided to ask the forum for ideas. What websites are good for purchase of the rims. I'd probably buy the rims/tyres first, get them on and then lower the car after.

Thanks in advance

EDIT: Just finished up on doing some ICE to my car. It's been Rockford Fosgate'd up with new door speakers and also installed tweeters to go with a subwhoofer. No doubt the car sounds so much nicer now.

wheel size in 19" u looking at 8J - 8.5J fronts and 9J - 10J rears.
tyres would be either 225/35/19 or 235/35/19 fronts and 255/30/19 or 265/30/19 rears.

front offset around ET35 and rears anything between ET25 - ET35.

Thanks

You might find you can get about £300 for your existing wheels - see ebay below - a style which I rather like - and chop them in for other OEM wheels 2nd hand in 19" size. This way it takes the edge off paying £800 for a set - as it'll only cost you say £500. Make sure you don't get end up with cracked rims etc. - I wouldn't buy without inspecting personally - but with this proviso ebay can be an OK source if you take your time and do some auction sniping.

On an SE, I'd be inclined to avoid MSport options, and try 230s if you want 19"s. Then again I'd probably just get 162s in 18"s as they look great on SEs.

Mind - if I'd just got a 1st class honours degree - I'd be selling the 325i and treating myself to a M Sport 330i/335i with all the toys! You know it makes sense & you've earned it!

Regarding lowering - the Eibach Pro-line springs provide an ideal drop imo.

Be aware that it is recommended to change dampers if lowering your car - that is your decision which will involve a significant amount of research.

But if you are only interested in a subtle drop, Eibach are your best bet.

Hi Sunny, where have you been hiding! Is your car on M Sport suspension at the moment? BMW Performance springs are a good option if you want to stay OEM and give a subtle but noticeable drop whilst improving handling.
