I imagine they are just copies, not meant to be sold on. Do you ever use torrent downloads? ;-)

Im just popping out to test my new sat nav disc

Also depends on the version on your iDrive too. All "dodgey" discs thus far are for iDrive v1.

Current iDrive 2 cost for disc and code is around £180.

Go to a reputable camera disc producer. Guy called Sergei.

The camera POI's are rubbish.

The position is impossible to judge and with no warning or even knowing which side of the road it's on you will miss them.

Not to mention they'll be years out of date...

Better to just look out the windscreen instead of you nav screen! Or get a pukka gps camera warning unit.

Beg to differ on that. I knew the bloke who supplied Sergei with camera data, and they were up-to-date.

I use the speed camera display all the time when travelling in Europe. Certainly worthwhile when you are driving on unfamiliar roads.

Well said, Dave.

The camera data provided on Sergei's discs has always been 'up to date' at the time the specific disk image was created. It has also been acquired from multiple sources, merely for safety. It'd be great if the image were accessible through the USB connector, but that isn't the case unfortunately. This would have allowed the POI data to be updated far more easily.

The latest complete 2010-1 Roadmap Europe Professional DVD exceeds the space required to fit onto a 'normal' single-layer DVD+R disc. As there can be some problems with Nav drives being able to correctly read a re-created dual-layer image, it's more practical to remove some of the normal POI data from the original image & burn the smaller, newly-created image onto a 'normal' single-layer disc.
This is how most 'currently-available images' will have been created.

+1 I can also recommend this option. I'd never used bot tirrent and had to download a bit of software to get the image - but in next to no time (OK, quite a while actally to download several Gb) I had a burned disc that worked in my car.

The camera PoI are useful, and its good how they are always on (assuming EUROCAMs was the last thing you seached for....sometimes I see shopping trolleys or petrol pumps everywhere on the map instead of cameras....)

On the legal side, where do you sit in France if you have a Sat Nav with camera warnings on it? The Gendarms are known to confiscate/destroy radar detectors on the spot, and I think technically GPS based camera warners are banned too - it would be a bit tricky for them to rip out Prof Nav at the side of the road, though they could take your DVD....

I can't remember now - that was ages ago on the laptop that met an untimely death on our fireplace hearth (hard disks don't like shock loading).

Suggest you PM Carlos or Viv - they might have a link. I'd quite like a new one too actually.....

Newgroups are the way to go AND far safer than any torrent site I took a quick look first one I found BMW_Pro_2010_Euro-DVD5-Speedcams.part0.nzb will fit on dvd+r which is cheaper Ive tried a few in the past no problems at all.

Hi Mike, enjoying the 335d? Did you get to the bottom of the facelift rear - I think this is the same car that was discussed here some months back? It looked lovely.

PS Newgroups - never heard of them - am I officially 'old'?!
