Seems to me that since the PROcede autotunes boost and ignition based on the timing curve that max boost would be less dependent on octane and more a function of your other "flow" mods and your appetite for spinning your turbos outside their efficiency range. If you have good enough octane and weather, you can push these turbos beyond where they should be for frequent use and still see a nice smooth timing curve.

It would be nice to have some recommendations based on any combination of:
  1. DCI
  2. Primary catless
  3. Secondary catless

for each of:
  1. Max turbo life
  2. Median risk/performance
  3. Max performance

You international folks are just enjoying the benefits of quality fuel and cool temps. Go ahead and set the max boost limit to 16psi. Max sustainable boost is usually limited by octane/fuel quality. But in some case where fuel quality is very good, boost should be limited by common sense (ie, the need to not run big power on a daily basis) and exhaust backpressure from not running upgraded exhaust systems. For cars with stock exhausts/cats, I'd suggest limiting boost to 15psi for daily driving. And 16psi for cars with upgraded exhausts. You can always set up map2 to be a more aggressive maps (higher allowable boost) when you want to push things harder from time to time when conditions/needs permit.

Shiv,For cars with stock exhausts/cats, with 94 octane map 1 daily driving you are suggesting to set max boost to 15psi,what should the user boost and ignition correction be set to? and should the aggression target be changed?

Then for map 2 maximum effort , For cars with stock exhausts/cats, what are your recommendations?

Also for the automatic tranny what should the upshift softening be set to?

I've just updated my friend's Z4 to the latest 6-16 maps. Firmware & map update went smoothly.
Strangely I couldn't monitor/read the selected channels during the runs (I was connected /disconected to online/offline several times to make sure there is no prob with connection).

When i was plugging the laptop to my car , I could see, on the fly, everything nicely (debug byte 2,5 , Intake air temp etc) when I was plugging it back into the Z4 , no figures displayed on the monitor.
Anyone could help on this?

He was in valet mode. Which is why there is no CAN data displayed. Just DTC mapswitch to map1 or 2 and he'll be good to go.

We tried to do that. The guys told me that DTC in Z4 isn't the same thing as in E9x. There is no button to double-tap in order to change maps. How could i make the car to start up at map 1 whithout using the DTC button?

Gotcha... I have a solution for him. Just ask him to email me at shiv@vishnutuning.com. I have special firmware for him that will reset map selection to map1. It's only for those who don't currently have dtc mapswitching.
