I am going thru the install process and have had lots of headaches.
At this point everything seems to be installed correctly, but can't be. The passenger side headlight's angels work great along with the turn signal and daytime/high beam. THe drivers side turn signal and daytime run fine. The angels are barely flickering. HIDs on both sides will turn on for 5 secs then the HID relay goes nuts and turns them off. I have the resistors installed on the oem wiring where the lowbeam connected to and I think everything else looks right but I have to be missing something. ![]() Anyone give assistance. I tried an install with these a while ago and did not like the result. I got them working fine for about a day without any problems but they stopped functioning the first rainy day. I'm now working on converting OEM xenons to work on my halogen setup.
As for helping you out... check you wiring... make sure you have the ballasts connected correctly as well as the wiring harness and resistors. There should be a wiring harness that you connect directly to the battery and into the headlight. When mine were shipped to me they neglected to send me this part. Do you get any warnings when they flicker? |

![]() Other than that the overall appearance of the project I am pleased with. You said yours cut out on you on a rainy day....did you return them for a refund or what did you do? And how is converting oem xenons going? I am very interested!! |

Sure. I will when I get home. My issue is that all works perfect except the outter AE rings.
Here is one of the AE's on the passenger side working before the driver's side was hooked up. |

Projector90 Issues
I just bought a pair and two different shops told me that they would not install them because they spliced into the OEM harness and that my Factory Warranty would be void if I did this. UMNITZA said that they are full of crap and that it would in no way void the warranty.
Anyone else have any issues this this set of Xenon's for the E90? I changed my mind and sent the lights back. I only have 100 miles on my new 328i and don't want to lose the 4yr/50K warranty this early into ownership. |

Your entire warranty cannot be voided with any single modification. Rather, it will void the warranty covering that specific part. For instance, if you replace the radio with an aftermarket headunit, your radio warranty will be gone but the dealer cannot refuse to fix an issue related to the engine (for instance) because you have an aftermarket radio. The dealer must prove that a specific modification caused a problem on the vehicle before refusing warranty service.

Projector90 Issues
I did some more research and yes, if I had them installed and something went wrong (a switch or fuse) BMW would have to prove that the wiring of the lights was the cause to refuse to fix the problem. I have heard many people say that some dealers will look for an excuse to not provide you service if you modify something. Anyway, I am still researching the issue of Halo/angel eyes and I am open to suggestions so please PM me if any of you can help.

I get the pleasure of taking these apart to replace the rings.
The advice is to put them in the oven at 200*. How long? Anyone else have good advice with this? Should I get some new glue when its time to put it back together? ![]() |

You can follow this baking guide to opening your headlights:
http://www.jlevisw.com/Bake.pdf You do not need new glue when baking them back together as the glue that is already on there will be heated and fuse together. |

Hi all,
I'm a new poster, but have read the forums for a quite a bit of time. I hope I'm not digging up a too-long-dead thread, but I purchased these same projector 90 lamps and had nothing but problems with them. Luckily, J.Levi Streetworks arranged for them to be repaired by Umnitza and I have them back in my possession. Does anyone have any tips to installing these and making them work? They seem to be a bit spastic in their function and cause the headlamp outage indicator to go off. I've tried every which way to make these work properly to no avail so any installation suggestions would be very much appreciated. Regards! |

Good luck lokigoki. I have them too. I have replacement rings, but have been unable to find a shop in the ST. louis area to help with the replacement process. Jlevi really helped to get the parts, but I'm frazzled in my situation. They will be sure to help you.

I understand the warranty issue but there isn't much of a warranty if the whole electrical system of the car goes dead b/c you put in 300 dollar headlights into a 30K dollar car. There's a reason why the OEM xenons cost as much as they do. Just my .02
