What size tires will fit with no issues?
I'm looking for a new set of tires.
I have MIRO CSL's with 235/35/19 up front and 265/30/19 rears. I want to go larger but not sure how large I can go without rubbing? Can I go 245 up front and 285 rear? Should I stick with 235 and 275? I'm lowered (but not slammed) on KW2's. Last edited by DC_driver; 06-09-2010 at 05:01 PM.. |

On the 19x8.5 ET35 and 19x9.5 ET33 I would go no bigger than the then 235/35/19 and at most a 275/30/19 with a rounded sidewall tire such as the Falken 452 or the Nitto Invo to minimize/eliminate the chance of rubbing. The 245/35/19 and 285/30/19 is definitely not doable without a fender roll!

You can make 245 and 275 work with quite a bit of fender rolling. 285 would be difficult, besides, there aren't many 285/30/19 options out there.
But again, it depends on the tire brand that you are using. Falkens would definitely be doable in wider configuration. Bulky General Exclaims would be much tougher. Think of it this way 265 generals = 275 falkens. I don't know how low you are on coils, but when I dropped my car on H&R sports I had an issue with the tire rubbing NOT on the fender, but on the inside of a fender liner. I had to trim it a bit and now I have zero rubbing. |

tire sizes
I was looking at my current setup today.
I think I can fit a 245 up front. It is only 10mm wider and I think I have plenty of room. The rears can go 275 if not 285. It seems like I can clear the coilovers with no problems. It is hard to see the top of the wheel where it is closest to the coilover. I may have to raise the car to feel around the wheel. I've been looking at the Hankook V12 tires. I currently have the General Exclaims which I'm very happy with. They are a great tire for the money. |

Hey guys, I am looking at getting some Breyton Race GTS wheels (19 x 8.5 front, and 19 x 9.5 rear), to go with 235/35/19 tires up front and 265/30/19 tires in the rear. Now my question is, will that setup work with a 2011 BMW 328xi? I just want to make sure that the tires won't rub or anything like that before buying them.
As well, I've read some posts that talk about something I think is called called "rolling diameter %". Now what is a good percentage as opposed to a bad percentage, i.e. with this setup I'm looking at would I have a good percentage? One member had mentioned that a percentage over 1% is bad with the all-wheel drive system. Any help you guys can offer on these two issues is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!! |

New rear tires
I ended up buying General Exclaim rear tires again from Tire Rack.
I got the 275/30/19's. They fit with no problems. I probably could do 285's next time. And I'm going to change out the fronts to 245/35/19. The KW 2's allow me to raise the car up a little if I need more clearance. |
