I'm pretty sure BMW will keep it around the same power and same price point. Is a market that is there and BMW knows people will pay for if kept under $2k and warranty is in tact. I also agree on getting the 335is over the n55 with power kit. Better cooling, more power, better brakes, 7 speed dct, better engine. Only downsides, are the people that wants a sedan can be achieved by getting an 335i with power kit.

i got chance to drive both coupes back to back the other day.. and its like night and day.. and not just the power aspect, just the feel of the car, ride quality, precision, i cant even go into details about the differences on both cars, since each is pointed at a different customer base. put it this way... and im not the only one that has done this little test in the last few day either -- the E92 335i AT is a car your wife(if she's not a car nut)could drive without much of an issue of being surprised... its graduated in terms of expectibility -- you can gauge when you pull the trigger, and when not to. the two E92 335is coupe that i drove are what u really want in a car, the sounds the feel, the rush... its nowhere compared to a fully modded car (of any type) but this is as close as BMW has come since the E46 M3 in 2002, to making driving a 3 series a freakin blast.... 12/2011 is my date with the new girl --- so hard to wait -- but maybe by then there be a Power Kit out on it too.. |

** They should have made factory LSD an option for the 335is to bring back the old option that was available on the e30 325is. Last edited by scottp999; 07-13-2010 at 11:58 AM.. |

If all this is true... this is just a sign to me that the next 335is will now also include the N55... I am thoroughly convinced of this... Goodbye N54...

based on automotive specs and federal/state/country regulations, is this to say the N54 will sooner or later be replaced, yes it will .. but the real question is when.. but to say the next year.. maybe a little early. i have seen only a couple of times that BMW has not produced a vehicle that eclipes the previous cars in either comfort, safety, or performance, and i know that the N54 is hard to beat, so if it does go away.. im sure its replacement is be its equal or better -- minus the HDP problem |

yeah, i know what you mean, everytime i get into my 09 i dont want to let it go... but in this case its a lease car.. and i was gonna buy it out after the lease, that is until the PDI guy got me to drive both cars... side by side .. he's been a BMW tech since the 80's, so he appreciates the cars -- seeing the evloution, so to speak.. he doesnt get excited about much, but both of us are jazzed about this 335is... plus it give me a year to see the shake down -- and maybe ill just keep the 09 .. but i dont think so..
putting in a LSD as a options would be sooooo awesome on this car... but you and i dont get to make the final call --- unless you pop one in yourself... enjoy your ride ... Quote:

I remember how long I suffered between the N54 kit announcement and the moment I had it on the car In the N54 case, it was about 8 months...
