Few tint questions....
First I have a '07 E90 ZSP 6 man w/Nav and Logic7. I am getting tint tomorrow at a local shop that only carries Llumar product.
1)Anyone have experience with Llumar good or bad? 2)Since I have nav they only recommend the axcess series tint to not interfere with the remotes, cell signal, and Nav: http://www.allprowindowtinting.com/a...ow-film-series 3)Is ceramic or metallic an option for me and still have good signal reception? 4) Quoted $329 with lifetime warranty 35% all the way round (max legal in GA) this seems little high to average....any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I have Pinnacle F1 (35% all around). This is one of the best ceramic tints you can buy ( other brand is Huper Optik). Since you have Navi, it is very strongly suggested that you go with ceramic tint. Expect to pay $320-360 for ceramic tint. Ask for BMW forum or BMWCCA member discounts. Most place will knock off $10-30.

I have personal experience with llumar (i installed it on my old vw). Great quality stuff, holds up well... your quote for install seems a bit high... i think around my area it'd be around 225 - 275 for install

GPS antenna is in the shark fin, so tint won't affect it.

Is the radio antenna in the rear window or the fin also?

I believe radio antenna is printed on the glass. The shark fin is used for GPS, BMW assist and satellite radio.

I can't answer that question, however I'd recommend you get ceramic tint (double check that please) because other types can reduce the effectiveness of a Radar detector, more specifically Laser detection (radio bands - X, K, Ka - should not be affected). You might not use one now, but keep your options open for the future, I know can't leave my house without my V1.
Good luck, -Walter

Metalic tint has been known to cause problems with cell phone reception inside of the car. Some owners have reported problems with convenient access acting up.
Plain and simple: just stick to high-quality ceramic tint and you will be OK. Vasil |

Llumar Formula1 Pinnacle tint is one of the best ceramics out there, I would think in the States, you should be able to get an E90/E92 done for less than $250. We did a group buy in Toronto several months ago and the cost was $260 CDN!
F1 Pinnacle comes with a lifetime warranty, as well. Regards

llumar is a good brand of car window film it shouldnt affect any signals but make sure you ask the shop because some films are known to if you want to be safe get a nonmetal based (same price) or carbon based window film (costs more but it is the best film available), ask for lifetime warranty and you will be fine.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm very happy with the tint, other than the $325!! I was cooking in the car daily and already can tell a difference from my 10 min drive home. Here are some pics:

Got the Llumar Axcess tint 35% all the way round, $325 lifetime warranty. It looks lighter then it really is and makes a huge difference in temperature inside the cabin.
