need help. bms dci

After hearing all the good reviews of BMS DCI, I finally purchased one and installed it.. and i have a few questions...

1)DCI sounds barely noticeable(almost like stock) in low rpm range, and it only sounds like sucking up air and the turbo spool when I go in high rpm range(when i floor it)? does this sound right?

2)after installation of DCI, I felt like more heats from engine bay were getting transferred into the car for example, heat coming from behind the steering wheel, and from where the brake pedals are. thus making the temperature of inside the car go up...

your help will be appreciated. thanks

You'll only get more noise at higher throttle levels when you're making boost. You can use your JB3 interface to monitor before and after intake temperature and you'll find they are very similar.

intake install

Did you get your cowl back on tight? It has that cabin filter too maybe not secured so hot air coming through cabin filter?

Def. can hear the turbo spool and air sucking - I enjoy to hear a little something w/ the mod instead of silence of stock so no worries on that part.

Afe or injen. Don't know if it's worth the extra 250 though.

You're absolutely correct as the BMS DCI isn't the loudest out of the bunch and it the heat your experiencing has to do with the fact that the system does not have a heat shield and the cones are exposed in your engine bay which in my opinion is one of the biggest flaws of both the BMS and InJen DCI's.

The aFe Dual Filter Cold Air Intake System replaces your restrictive factory air box which allows for an increased air flow meaning more horsepower. Another feature of the intake is the 16 gauge powder coated steel heat shield. A heat shield makes sure that the intake doesn't use the hot air around your engine and only allows the intake to receive cooler air, which adds more power. Not only does power increase, but many have observed an increase in MPG.

aFe has two different systems out for the N54:
1) aFe Dual Filter Cold Air Intake System
2) aFe Elite Stage 2 Si Intake System (more expensive system)

So are you saying that since the bms intake doesn't have a heat shield which prevents warmer air from entering the engine, this causes hot air to go into the cars cabin?
