Shiv, Question for you on the new boost gauge

Shiv, quick question. Being I'm at 5200 feet, I typically see about -2.5 at idle on my boost gauge. What I noticed today driving around is the fuel gauge doesn't quite register under very low boost. My question to you, being i'm at -2.5 starting point, will I need the car to be making ~2.5psi boost before the needle actually starts to move?

Appreciate it in advance.

You are exactly right. In this sense, the Procede's boost gauge represents boost above standard atmosphere pressure (14.5psi). So if you starting out at 12psi atmospheric, you'll need to build up 2.5psi before the needle starts to move.

Cheers,
shiv

Interesting.
Shiv, would those people that set barometer in the procede adjust how the gauge starts for them?

Nope. That just adjusts how much boost they run at altitude. Not how their gauge is calibrated. But that feature is pretty useless these days since autotuning is always functional.

No I understand. What I'm saying is for the people running with the baro on for high altitude, then the boost gauge will be offset by 2.5psi I guess.
But if they don't use the baro setting, since autotune, then I don't see how it will change the way it starts the gauge for them.

It won't. It will continue to display boost above standard atmos pressure as it is intended to. Eventually, we will allow for user calibration to account for car to car variance and, if desired, atmos compensation.
