The point is by the time you know there is a fire it will be to late. Fuel lines go under the car for a reason.

You would also be able to tell if there is a fire inside the car no matter what color the flame is due to the increased heat in the cabin, I dont even know how a fire would start in the first palce in the cabin unless you are a smoker. In the 135i case you will have to cross the methanol line over the exhaust which in my opinion is not smart at all. I would rather have a meth leak in my interior than one on a hot exhaust and then the car goes up in flames.

It is VERY flammable in high concentrations. In case a meth hose is broken in the engine bay it will almost for sure begin to burn since the turbos becomes very hot. When you recognize there is an ongoing fire under the hood it may very well be to late unless you have a fire extinguisher and water to kill the fire. The water is needed to kill any glow fire, which may result from hood insulation that is burning and falls down on the bottom plate. Best thing is to remove the hood insulation so this cannot happen. You will not get the time needed to lift the car, remove the bottom cover and wipe out burning insulation. There are only a few minutes before a fire starts in the engine compartment, when it can be controlled. All plastic and rubber will very soon be hot enough to set the complete car into fire, and the insurance companies will not pay for this. So, think first and get what is needed to control a fire in case shit happens.
