Help on wheels
I know there are lots of debates out there... so before anyone tells me to search, I have. But am only trying to get yalls opinion on which wheel to get because I am on the fence.
Avant Garde m310 or VMR vb3 Which one would you recommend? it will go on a blue 330i with the sports package. I will be getting new tires with them as well. I really like the M3 style wheels that are similar to both of these... but just can't decide.

The AG T310s are exactly the same as VMR V710 in terms of style...
I personally like the VB3 more because it has a bit more concavity...it all comes down to personal preference. Let me know if you need help with pricing on a set |

both designs are nice but i dont like the process of gravity cast wheels. very heavy and not the best quality!

The Avant Garde M310 gets my vote for one reason specifically it's a low pressure cast wheel
Though not enforced, there are quality standards to govern the production of wheels. Some countries though, like Germany and Japan, have government regulations requiring aftermarket wheels to meet certain criteria and ensure proper fit. The United States has taken steps to establish guidelines but it will be some time before they can enact regulation of any kind. Consequently, all wheels are not made the same. The performance of an alloy wheel is a direct result of the manufacturing technique employed. The Avant Garde Wheels are low pressure cast, making them stronger and lighter when compared to gravity cast wheels. The Avant Garde has designed these 310 wheels a patented way to give them more strength without adding extra weight. The Avant Garde 310 Wheels have a staggering 815kg/1835lb load rating. Also take into consideration also that all of the wheels that come standard from BMW straight from the factory are Low-pressure cast at a minimum. Weights: 19x8.5 ET35: 25.7 lbs 19x9.5 ET33: 27.35 lbs Feel free to contact me if you have any questions at all and I'll be more than happy to assist you. - Alan |

Like most the other members on this forum, I really like VMR's line up, especially the classy VB3 wheel. VMR has been giving this forum great wheels for quite some time now, and they've proven themselves to be a great wheel manufacturer w/ some great designs, with strength and class.

How much do OEM wheels weigh? I have type 162's... Looking for a weight difference between the AG's, VMR's, and OEM's... I have gotten lots of different numbers.

I have had bad luck with my first set of AG's (341's). Actually returned them today. Had weird vibrations right out of the gate. Took them to the tire shop 3 days after I put them on and they said they couldn't even correctly balance the rear set. Tech said they didn't seem true. I am really ticked, they were gunmetal and looked amazing on my Black E93.
Now struggling about what to do next. Do I have to go forged? Never had VMR's, many great looks for sure. I am actually surprised how little candid feedback there is on any of the forums about the many aftermarket wheel brands out their and their quality short and long term quality. I have Miro M6 reps for my Winter setup and was pleased for the 5-6 months they were on the car. But with Blizzaks being so soft, they could distort any negative feel or feedback. Good luck. |
