After 2+ years of V3 i upgade to V4 autotune! First impressions...!!
Hello, i was running Procede V3 for about 2,5 years and yesterday i installed the Rev2 V4 with autotuning maps 7-14.
For all this time i was having many limps in high speeds, (all associated with 30ff codes) and although i changed almost everything in the charge pipe (to make it leak free) the limp was there. My car E93 (with 1810 kilos weight) is stage 3 and yesterday i made over 15 back to back runs including 3d, 4th and one 5th gear. The ambient temperature was 30c and although i have forge ic, the inlet temperature was very high (about 50c and in 5th gear wot 80c). My fuel is 100 octane (Europe) I set the map2 at 14,5 psi and ign corr at 50 and let autotune doing its magic... The big difference from V3 is throttle response.. Now the car behaved very accurate and smoothly. With quick shift changes, the boost didn't fall(imagine that i have blow off valves and they didn't made the woosh sound when i shift very quickly) Now about autotune... After a few 3d gear pulls, the debug byte 5 (autotune boost) raised at 15,6psi and debug byte 2 (autotune ign) starting to fall down to 0. I was very impressed!!! I continued to made back to back runs and when the inlet temperature climps up to 50c there was a ign retard at around 6100rpm. As you can see in the graph below the debug byte 2 raised to 30 and then to 40. After that i made a harder run including 4th gear and although the inlet temperature raised at 70c there was no ign knock retard and the debug byte 2 fall down to 0! And then i decided to wot until 260km. As i was expecting... The inlet temp raised at 70c and about 210km the knock was there. Then the autotune raised again the ign at 30 and then to 40 and although i had inlet temp about 80c there wasn't any more knock. The debug byte 5 remain high at 15,6psi! All these time the debug word 8 (aggression level of tune) was 2 and a little time 2,5. Looks like the autotune behaves very quickly and i am very satisfied!!! I wonder if it is possible, for autotune, to raise the ign cor just a moment before the knock retard in order to avoid it! |

Good stuff...same weird thing happened to me as well.
Making a few good runs (3rd-4th-5th) was continiously seeing my IgnCor increasing up to 80% and boost dropped to 14.5. Doing hard runs of 4th-5th and 6th gear the IgnCor dropped to 0% and boost raised to 16.5psi. Shouldn't the opposite be happening?

I made some more datalogs and the autotune for ign cor (debug byte2) behaves great. As soon a knock occured the value increased to 30-40.
I wish debug byte 8 (autotune boost) wouldn't be so aggresive and lower from 15,6 to 14,5+. Just a question this value debug byte 8 is it associate only with fuel quallity or and with inlet temperature (because when i had 70c+ inlet temp shouldn't it supposed to be lower than 15,6psi?) Because all these knock appeared above 6000rpm, is it easy for autotune maps to be a little more conservative from 6000rpm to top? |
