Runflats versus non runflats

Can anyone who has swapped from 18" runflats to 19" non runflats advise if the 19's grip better, especially in the wet?

It all depends on the tire you get. I went to a 19" Goodyear F1 GS-D3. They handle much better and are the best tire I have ever had in wet conditions. They are a warm weather tire only. You can go to Tire Rack and read the reviews about the different tires.

run flats dont grip that great to begin with.... a good summer tire(not nankangs...lol) will be MUCH better than the runflats. run flats are also heavier.

runflats

I was thinking of changing from Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 runflat to the same tyre but non runflat. Would that see an improvement in grip?

If it helps, I went from 205/55/R16 Continental Premium Contact SSR (run flat) to a Continental Premium Contact 2 standard tire and the behaviour of the car was completely different. Standard tires are MUCH better certainly in this size. In all the digging other E90/E91 owners and I've done on the subject on other forums, some of them engineers who have had Bridgestone Field Engineers in their car with them investigating tire problems, it seems caution is needed in switching to standard tires depending on sizes.
Some say the car is a little under damped on standard tires, sometimes I think this myself, other days I think not. One thing is certain, the E90/E91 is very sensitive to tire pressure, you must keep pressures right on spec. to get the best ride/handling.
Another E91 330 owner I know on standard Goodyear F1's will shortly be fitting Koni FSD dampers which promise better ride and handling (very clever design). Waiting to hear back on this before I do anything, but the idea has great promise!
