Can a BMW computer re-set after mods?
I was having this discussion with a friend on whether a computer can resort to its factory tune after a certain number of miles. We were referring to piggyback type mods. What do you guys think?

no. the computer doesn't really know its being tuned... (sort of) a piggyback modifies the signal coming from the computer so the computer has no input in what the piggyback does.

"THE COMPUTER" that op is talking about is just a huge chip with 0ver 40I/O lines. it doesn't have the mind of its own. it does what it's told to.

I think that the DME in the N55 is close to what you are talking about.
