I am going Ottawa! What to do?

I have some business trips to Ottawa on coming July 30 - August 1.
My daily meetings are only 4 hours a day..... other than that, I have nothing to do... nor dont know what to do there.

Any recommendation what I can do? I would like to take some pics with my crappy dslr. I will be staying in Delta Hotel near the airport if it helps.
My only foot will be the public transportation.

There isn't much where you're staying, but I think you can get downtown with one bus transfer.

We've got some good museums: the war museum, museum of civilization, museum of nature and maybe the aviation museum, in order of ease of access from the main transit route. There are bike/walking paths along the Ottawa river and the Rideau Canal if you want some outdoor activity/picture taking opportunities.

The Jazz Festival is on, and there are also a number of non-Jazz acts that are part of the festival (for example, Shad and Owen Pallet are playing during those three days).

There's a fair bit going on, depending on what you're into. Ottawa isn't quite as boring as it seems; we just keep our fun stuff well hidden.

If you have colleagues or someone with you. Go downtown to the byward market and enjoy the food and drinks

No Rox, that's the other SG 335d, he lives in Whitby, I think. The guys at Durham/Endras swapped my plates with the new "endrasBMW" covers when I dropped in on the F10 unveiling back in May. I'd have waved at you if I saw ya!

Depends where you are, but for the most part, on Saturday/Sunday, other than food/entertainment, stores close up at around 6pm... even at most mall's... I agree though, it's kinda funny for a population of more than 1 mill...
