Advice on BT scan / SSTT

I've had an SSTT since I bought the car, 50,000km+ with no other mods.

I started getting some long cranks for the last few months and more recently I got a few limp modes going up a hill at full throttle.

BT show's the following codes:

2FBF Fuel pressure at injection release (3x)
2A82 Inlet-Vanos variable cam control test (3x)
3100 boost-pressure control, deactivation (1x)
30FF Exhaust fume turbo charger, low pressure side (1x)

Here's my question I know I have a HPFP issue with perhaps something else. Will these codes show any sign of a tune being used? Should I remove the SSTT clear the codes and wait for another limp while stock before going in or am I being paranoid here.

Exactly. Remove the SSTT, hookup the BT, clear the codes, including shadow codes and then beat on the car to see if the codes come back.

If those are the only codes, you can simply remove the SSTT and take your car to the dealership. Should have it fixed within a day. Pretty routine job. You have a dying fuel pump as well as a sticky VANOS solenoid. That is what triggers the underboost and boost disable conditions.

Don't "beat on your car" when something is mechanically wrong.... sheeesh.

Good luck,
Shiv

Long story short:

- Dealer updated software, said this should fix it...
- Next day on cold startup, crazy idle then CEL
- Lot's of back and forth with the dealer, it seemed like they wanted the thing to die before doing anything. I wasn't too happy.
- Pump finally replaced with a 933

Thanks for the help!
