I hope the newbies dont follow you advice OP no offense...but plenty of ppl have been screwed. Some are lucky and a lot are burned so far...just hope nobody from BMW corp is there looking at random cars and just flags ur car...which has happened to a lot of folks here. otherwise all I got to say thats cool u dont have to go through the hassle of taking of ur mods every time u go in congrats!

Which dealer do you use? Gebhardt?

What dealer Sir? And if you could PM me the SA that would be cool too.

When they flag your car, does that mean your warranty is done?

If it isn't an engine related issues, they could careless what mods are on the car.

I just see his post as commentary about how happy he is with his dealer. I wish all dealers were that way. I'm sure people know better and will feel out their dealership during their first few visits.

Personally, due to the type of service that Miami dealerships provide, I would rather BMW forget all about the free maintenance and just reduce the prices on their cars. Everytime I've taken the car in for something they take at the very least twice as long as they estimated and only do half of what they were supposed to do. Yet, the car always comes back with more issues...an additional rattle, a few extra screws laying around, loose panels, always something. And, yes, they try to blame everything on aftermarket parts...even as ridiculous as commenting on non-stock bulbs, wheels, etc.

As much as I love the way my car drives I have a hard time convincing myself to give BMW anymore business. Unfortunately, the top 4 cars on the list for my next car are all BMWs. I've thought about just ignoring the free maintenance thing, buying out of state, and going to an independent shop, but all BMWs eventually require some type of warranty work, even if minimal, and then the dreaded dealer visit that comes along with it. Or maybe I can just move to Connecticut.

In the end I keep thinking, if I'm going to deal with a POS dealership, I might as well go over to the GTR and try my luck with Nissan.

My warranty is up next month, so I am finally seriously considering a proper tune (V4). Curious how shop will deal with it. Also considering extended warranty.

Had my HPFP replaced in the DC area: kept the Injen intake in, took the Procede out, no issue. They also did the annual service, checked the codes, nothing hot. I showed them that the BMW roundel on the steering wheel was chipping/fading and they replaced the whole airbag, covered under warranty.
