Messed Up Driveway

So ever since I've moved into my current house a couple of years ago, my driveway has always been bugging because it looks so ugly, but I have never really had the time to tackle this project until now.

The main problem seems to be rust which covers a lot of the driveway, and aslo this blue colored thing which I have no clue what it is.

My main question is how can I go about cleaning this up. Are there solutions that you can buy at a local hardware store to get rid of the rusting? Or should I use concrete paint?

Are you sure that is rust?

It looks to me like the driveway was supposed to be brown but has been whitened by hard water or salt.

Where is the blue thing?

have you thought of re-surfaceing, or epoxy? I made the mistake of painting my old garage floor and it peeled like a mofo... and I used top notch paint.

Looks like a top coat sealant has eroded away.

People who specialize in concrete may be able to re-stain it or you can buy products especially for concrete.

I would prefer to do something that wouldn't take too much time or money like resurfacing. But it looks like I might have to do it is necessary.
