Saab to BMW...Thoughts on this deal.
Hey All,
So after recently purchasing my first 335xi 2 weeks ago, my girlfriend wants a BMW too. She currently drives an 09 Saab 9-3 which is a great car. It only has about 6000 miles on it and wants to get into a 328xi for as close to an even swap as possible. I found a really nice 2008 328xi at an extremely reputable Lexus dealer nearby. It is a one owner trade with 29000 miles and premium and cold weather package. So the xenons are there which is really nice for the lady. The only concern I have is that it is not CPO, but then again it is only $23,600 with 2 more years and 20k miles of warranty left. Please no responses based simply on the fact that it is a BMW over a Saab. Please let me know what you think about the deal itself without being a CPO. |

We got the 9-3 for $18000 brand new in December when Saab's future was questionable. Blue book now is between $19500-$21200 trade in.
Let's also throw an IS250 AWD into the mix. What do we think between the IS250 AWD and the 328 Xi. Again, I know everyone on the forum is bias (including me) but I do not know anyone who owns an IS so I cannot compare. |

Already offered me $20,500 trade my friend.
I paid $26998 for a new accord in may, put 3k miles on it and traded it in 2 weeks ago for my 335xi and they gave me $27000 |

The BMW will be a big step up in performance over the 9-3, I know both cars well and Saab's future really isn't any brighter than it was back in December. Its arguably worse given the direction Spyker wants to take the brand, so I would cash in on the perceived restored health of Saab now while I could. I would not stop looking for 328's, there are a ton of them out there with low mileage, but you want one with the sport package. The sport seats are truly excellent, and non-sport seats are truly bad. You also want Premium package for the bluetooth alone. Also the 328i gets 3-4 mpg more in mixed but mostly highway driving. I had an xi before I had an i, the xi got 21, the i gets 25.
P.S. I have an ad here to sell my 328i, but it just sold this weekend. good luck!

I have a 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero 2.8T V6 (Same Car, well yours might be the Turbo 4), and a 2006 E90 330i Sedan with Sport Package, getting out of the Saab and into the BMW is like getting out of a canoe and getting into a tank, seriously its that much better.
